Utilities

The GE Centricity "Utilities Application" developed by DataFuzion provides added functionality to GE Centricity users by automating what has been a time intensive manual process within GE Centricity. DataFuzion has designed the "Utilities Application" to work side-by-side with Centricity and utilizes data from the Centricity database as well as from several additional custom tables. There are six modules currently built into this with more planned for the future.

1. Visit Management

There are currently five different methods for selecting visits you wish to process:

Ad-Hoc Search – Added functionality to an already familiar Billing screen, Visit Management allows users to select other choices such as adjustment type, payment type, CPT code and more!

Claim File – Returns all of the visits associated with a specific claim file.
Payor Response – Returns all of the claims associated with a Payor Response file.

Charge Batch – Returns all of the visits included in a specific Charge Batch.

Payment Batch – Returns all of the visits associated with a specific Payment Batch.

Each method returns a list of the appropriate visits into a results grid utilizing approximate 40 fields of available data. The user can select all of the visits by clicking the Select All, or they can select individual visits by clicking on the appropriate check box. Visit Manager also provides the ability to sort, group by, or rearrange columns to suit personal needs.

Following the selection process, the user can choose from an array of options such as:

  • Perform Action

  • Export to Excel

  • Print Labels

  • Print Letter

  • Print Reports

Print Letter – DataFuzion offers several predefined letters with the Utilities Application. These can be customized or new ones can be added to meet client needs.

  • Insurance

  • Medicaid

  • Workers Comp

  • Legal

  • Motor Vehicle

Export to Excel - Visit Management offers several predefined spreadsheet formats to export results from the grid. These can be customized or modified to meet client needs. Users are also able to create their own spreadsheet definitions on the fly.

When inserting notes, user has the opportunity to select either prepend, append, or overlay existing notes. User also has the choice of including date and user information in the note text.

2. Appointment Management

GE Utilities GuiAppointment Management allows users to search using a simple to advanced search criteria from within the Appointment Results:
Appointment management also allows users to deal with multiple appointments in bulk as opposed to visits. Print letters that apply to your practices appointments such as normal pap smears or lab results. Spreadsheets, letters and labels are all customizable to meet your practice needs.
Other available actions are:

  • Change Appt Status

  • Change Appt Type

  • Insert Appt Note

  • Insert Eligibility Note

  • Print Letters

  • Print Reports

  • Print Labels

  • Export to Excel

3. Patient Management

Patient Management will allow you to identify groups of patients that meet selected criteria. Search your patients based on:

Employer – Reassign insurance coverage when a large employer switches carriers.
Referring doctor – Send letters thanking them for their referral.

Student Status – Send reminder letters to schedule early for physicals.

Referral Source – Follow up with marketing campaigns.

Patient History – With our proprietary demographics based Patient History utility, users are easily able to view date/time of demographic changes as well as the name of the user who made the change.

4. Statement Review

Statement Review identifies patients who will receive statements in a grid format prior to running actual statements. Other powerful features include the ability to:

  • Change Bill Code

  • See last statement date

  • Decide if any balances should be sent to collections

5. EDI Utilities

EDI Claim Viewer – View EDI files without having to start Centricity. Provides opportunity to troubleshoot EDI issues.

HL7 File Viewer – View HL7 files in a user friendly format with segments names and values. Provides opportunity to troubleshoot and research file transfer issues.

6. Admin Utilities

Fast Forward – Applies electronic files of guarantor address updates that are returned from the statement processor in minutes versus hours it takes to process manually.

LogView – All of our custom applications provide logging capabilities with the ability to log extensive information while Trace option is activated. LogView tracks which visits have had changes made to them.

Procedures Codes – Quickly activate/inactivate multiple procedures instead of processing one at a time.

Diagnosis Codes – Quickly activate/inactivate multiple diagnoses instead of processing one at a time
Missing Responses - Identify claims that have gone out but have not received an acknowledgement from the clearinghouse.

Manage Spreadsheets – Users can customize spreadsheet formats or add formats to suit their business needs.

Manage Letters - Provides users ability to customize their letter formats or add formats to suit their business needs.
